Exciting opportunity for Band 6 Senior Hand Therapist (Physiotherapist or Occupational Therapist)
to join the Plastic Surgery Hand Therapy team from September 2019.
This is an exciting and challenging role working within the Plastics outpatient team. You will work as part of the hand therapy team to manage a busy caseload of specialist and complex conservatively managed and surgically treated outpatients with traumatic and elective hand and upper limb injuries.
This is a complex role requiring you to provide thorough assessment and treatment of complex traumatic injuries as well as non-surgical conditions referred from the community. The caseload within the department is a mix of adult and paediatric patients some presenting with congenital hand cases.
The candidate can demonstrate experience of:
- Evidence of broad post registration experience in an NHS setting including significant MSK work.
- Post graduate experience in the assessment and treatment of acute hand conditions in an NHS setting.
- Post registration training pertinent to this area of work i.e. acute hand injuries.
- Evidence of splinting skills using thermoplastic
The Hours of Work are:
Part time 37.5 hours a week and staff also provide support to the Acute plastics ward at weekends so some flexibility is required to partake in weekend working.
