This bursary is for experienced hand therapists only, with a minimum of three years BAHT membership.
The aim of the award is to provide monetary support for two BAHT members to attend the Hong Kong Society of Hand Therapist's annual symposium on 28th February 2026 in Hong Kong (venue TBC). The recipients will be required to present a lecture each at the symposium, on a topic agreed with the HKSHT President.
BAHT
Overview
BAHT will be the guest society at the HKSHT annual symposium on 28 Feb 2026, entitled "Healing Hands, Endless possibilities"
Applicants are advised that the preferred topics for presentation at the symposium are: congenital hand conditions, tendon reconstruction, PIP joint management or complex hand presentations. Other relevant topics will be considered on a case by case basis.
As part of a reciprocal agreement with BAHT/BSSH, the two successful candidates will have two nights accomodation and their conference fees for the HKSHT sympsium on 28th February 2026 funded by the HKSHT. Members will need to fund their own accomodation and living costs thereafter. The HKSHT will be arranging visits to local hand therapy departments on March 2nd and 3rd 2026, should you wish to attend ( this is not funded by BAHT).
The suvccessful applicants will be able to demonstrate they are highly skilled hand therapists, with past, relevant teaching experience of teaching to a wider audience.
