The Wessex Rehabilitation Centre is a regional centre of excellence providing specialist musculoskeletal rehabilitation, encouraging patients to take an active role in their rehabilitation. We take a collaborative approach considering patients’ physical, emotional and social situation in order to enable them to optimise their function, maximise their independence and achieve their personal goals.
This is an exciting and challenging role working within the Upper limb Therapy team. You will work closely with the Band 7 Clinical Specialist Physiotherapist to develop and deliver effective and efficient specialist rehabilitation to patients with complex conservatively managed and surgically treated patients with traumatic and elective hand and upper limb injuries.
This is a complex role requiring you to work alongside the patients and carers and communicate with them in a way that respects their views, autonomy and culture. Due to the nature of the patients’ injuries you will be required to motivate the patients to maintain their recovery trajectory through effective communication where there may be significant barriers to understanding (e.g. cognitive, hearing or memory impairment).
You will also be required to attend regular team meetings and work collaboratively with the other service leads and business manager to contribute to the ongoing development of the rehabilitation streams and overall service provision at Wessex Rehabilitation Centre
The Hours of Work are:
Part time 37.5 hours a week Monday – Friday to be agreed with the head of Therapies
