The BAHT 2021 annual conference will be held on Friday 1st and Saturday 2nd October in Manchester. This event is being organised as a face to face conference in line with Government guidelines, but there will be the ability to attend virtually should this be your preference.

Abstracts are now welcome on any hand and upper-limb related theme. The deadline for submission is Tuesday 06th July 2021. Given the hybrid nature of BAHT 2021, free papers will be delivered using both a live format and as pre-recorded talks with virtual Q & A. We hope this may appeal to those who can’t join us in Manchester. This year, all posters will be electronic with a designated time for oral presentation and discussion.

Abstracts must be plain text (no tables, references or colours) and 300 words maximum, title excluded. Please specify if your submission should be considered for presentation as a free paper or electronic poster. Please structure your abstract as follows:

  • Title
  • Objectives: 1-2 sentences that clearly indicate the main study question(s) and its clinical importance
  • Methods: Sufficient information to describe experimental design and analysis
  • Results: Objective data in answer to the study question(s). Data collection may be in process but must be completed by the presentation.
  • Conclusions: Conclusions that are directly supported by the study results and their implications for clinical practice.

Please format the author(s) and affiliations as follows:

Authors – First name and surname, no titles or qualifications. Please use superscript numbers to indicate different institutional affiliations e.g. Joanna Bloggs1

Affiliations – Name of department, name of hospital/academic institution, city, country e.g. 1 Hand Therapy, St Elsewhere Healthcare NHS Trust, Nowhere Town, UK

Please email your abstracts as a word file to by Tuesday 06th July deadline. Please send two copies of your abstract, one including the author(s) names and affiliations and an anonymous copy for peer review.
