BAHT Learning & Development Updates

British Association of Hand Therapists Learning & Development Update

 

One of BAHT's key aims is to facilitate learning and development for Physiotherapists and Occupational Therapists treating hand and upper limb conditions, whether you are working towards becoming an accredited hand therapist (AHT), or merely looking to enhance your continuing professional development. The BAHT Education Sub-Committee (ESC) is dedicated to continuous development of flexibility and choice in the learning opportunities available across the spectrum of clinical experience, so you may not be aware of all the options now available:

 

  • BAHT level 1
    • Introductory level course, suitable for those working in hand therapy environments and beyond 
    • Now offered in both a face to face and virtual formats  
    • Assessed via post-course online exam

 

  • BAHT level 2 
    • There are an array of face to face & virtual level 2 courses available across a range of clinically focused topic areas

    • BAHT level II points can also be gained via:
      • MSc Accredited modules
      • MSc non accredited modules (< 20 credits) – NEW to level II
      • BAHT level II accreditation for prior learning (APL)
      • Educator points (this route has been updated)
      • Associate Principal Investigator (PI) Scheme  – NEW to level II

 

  • BAHT level III 
    • For anyone who wants to develop advanced learning in hand therapy there are a whole range of opportunities at level III including:
      • BAHT level III project
      • Level III accreditation for prior learning (APL level III)
      • Publication in the BAHT hand therapy journal
      • MSc accredited modules
      • MSc non accredited modules (20 credits or more)
