Nov 2025-2028 – Mr Max Horwitz 🎉
BAHT is delighted to announce the appointment of Mr Max Horwitz as our new Surgical Patron who will take over from our current Honorary President Mr James Bedford.
A Consultant Hand, Trauma and Orthopaedic Surgeon at Chelsea and Westminster NHS Foundation Trust and the Royal National Orthopaedic Hospital, Max also serves as an Honorary Senior Clinical Lecturer at Imperial College London.
Renowned for his dedication to advancing both hand surgery and therapy, Max brings a wealth of expertise, innovation and leadership to the role. Throughout his distinguished career, he has championed close collaboration between surgical and therapy teams at local, national and international levels — values that lie at the heart of BAHT’s strategic direction.
We look forward to working together to further strengthen the partnership between our professions.
Conference Keynote Speaker Announcement – Mike Stewart 🎤
We’re thrilled to welcome leading pain education specialist Mike Stewart as this year’s Conference Keynote Speaker!
Mike is a physiotherapist, researcher, and university lecturer with over 25 years of experience helping people overcome pain. He delivers evidence-based education to a wide range of healthcare professionals across diverse clinical settings, including elite sport, and has advised the International Olympic Committee on pain management.
With his dynamic and practical approach, Mike will explore how therapists can shape pain recovery. His keynote, “The Road from Acute to Chronic Pain Management: Practical Ideas to Help Us Avoid the Potholes,” promises to deliver valuable insights and real-world strategies to help us steer patients away from chronicity.
