We are looking for an exceptionally well driven, innovative and inspiring clinician to lead our hand therapy team based at Leeds General Infirmary. This post offers the opportunity to combine senior leadership whilst maintaining a clinical role
You will be a Specialist Occupational Therapist or Physiotherapist with significant experience in the knowledge, assessment and management of hand injuries and plastic surgery conditions. You will also be able to demonstrate clinical leadership abilities as well as service development and operational management of a team.
You will manage a team that consists of Clinical Specialist’s, Occupational Therapists, Physiotherapist’s and a Senior Support Worker. The caseload incorporates both Adults and Children. You will link closely with the dedicated Adult Therapies administrative team.
Outpatient Therapy is delivered to daily consultant trauma and nurse clinics, specialised clinics including Children’s Hand Clinic, Major Nerve injuries, ED, and Hand Transplant as well as dedicated Therapy clinics.
In addition occupational therapy provides therapy to the inpatients plastic surgery ward at LGI.
You will possess a strong knowledge of the evidence base and current practice in the clinical field of Hands and Plastic surgery. You will make use of strong communication skills to articulate the evidence base and clinical reasoning to your MDT, staff and colleagues to support the development of patient management pathways.
You will be expected to offer clinical and professional supervision and support to members of your team. To engage staff to be involved in service development, research and audit to improve patients experience. You will be a role model for demonstrating the Leeds Way Values through your leadership behavior and collaborate MDT working.
As a clinical Service Manager within the Leeds Teaching Hospital Adult Therapies Clinical Services Unit (CSU), you will be involved in not only meeting your teams agenda but also that of the Adult Therapies CSU and the Trust.
